What will your objectives be?

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design of gas treatment equipment for biogas recovery and industrial gas purification. Project experience is also desirable: the engineer may be called upon to supervise the mechanical manufacture of equipment, both in-house and at subcontractors, as well as the assembly of equipment at customer sites.

What will your responsibilities be?

The position of Mechanical Engineer at Pyro Green-Gas Inc. is the perfect opportunity to deploy many of your talents:

  • Mechanical engineering design of process equipment including detailed design of pressure vessels and process piping
  • Mechanical strength calculation of pressure vessels and piping systems according to ASME and CSA codes
  • Support structure calculation for vessels and skids
  • Preparation of MTO (Material Take-off) and TPS (Technical Purchase Specification) for procurement of materials
  • Preparing detailed General arrangement drawing, fabrication drawing and layouts using Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works or CADWorx
  • 3D modeling of equipment and plants
  • Assist to the sales team for the preliminary weight estimation and layout drawing
  • Technical clarification and discussion with customers/vendors.
  • Follow up on procurement and fabrication of equipment (internal and external)
  • Identify and supervise external consultants as required
  • Supervise and organize system installation and start-up
  • Supervise, as required, the work of subcontractors during system installation
  • Interact directly with the clients: meetings, documentation
  • Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor and for which the person is qualified

The required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Member of the OIQ- Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is mandatory. CEP will be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership/managerial ability combined with personal humility, with strong references.
  • Expertise with design and mechanical strength calculation of pressure vessels
  • Proficient with 2D Drafting, 3D modeling, Drawing review and checking
  • Expertise with a 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works or CADWorx will be an asset
  • Organized individual who is also a team player able to deliver projects on time and under pressure
  • Willing to travel to overseas as required
  • Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken) is an asset.
  • As successful candidate with at least 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Relevant experience (minimum 2 years) in pressure vessel design, calculations and modeling
  • Experience in petrochemical sector an asset
  • Experience in gas emission system design, process gas and biogas purification and upgrading equipment design is an asset
