Job Overview

Reporting to Production Manager, the Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the plasma atomization unit(s) and/or post-processing equipment. The Production Operator needs to be meticulous and solution oriented. He will work in collaboration with other departments such as quality assurance, quality control, and maintenance.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Operate and maintain plasma atomization unit(s) and/or post-processing equipment
  • Ensure the operation activities are carried-out on time in accordance with production schedule
  • Ensure all equipment maintenance programs are in place
  • Follow industrial hygiene regulations
  • Follow health and safety regulations
  • Follow best workplace practices
  • Work with a quality mindset and work closely with quality control department
  • Handle hazardous materials
  • Participate in the diagnosis of problems
  • Perform other duties as required by the immediate supervisor and for which the person is qualified

Education & Qualifications

  • College/CEGEP education
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, positive attitude, and good communication skills
  • Ability to handle weights of approximately 40lbs
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical effort
  • Ability to work alone or in a team and under pressure
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating night, and day over two weeks or weekends
  • Ability to work outside of their usual shift hours
  • Knowledge of English (written and spoken) is an asset

Experience

  • 3 years of relevant experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 field (asset) 
  • Experience in hazardous material handling (asset)
